CV

Magda Hueckel (1978) - Graduate of the Faculty of Painting and Graphic Art in Gdansk Academy of Fine Arts (specialization in photography and stage design, diploma in 2004). Additionally she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, Slovakia (2002) and the Schule fuer Gestaltung in St. Gallen, Switzerland (2001). In 2002 she established (with Agata Serafin) a photographic group under the name hueckelserafin (h/s). The group is a holder of the Award Sopocka Muza dla Młodych Twórców [Sopot Muse for Young Artists] granted by the Mayor of Sopot in 2004. She has lectures on Photography at the ZPAF Study, works in Warsaw theatre Teatr Współczesny, collaborates with theatre of Krzysztof Warlikowski (Teatr Nowy) and Ateneum theatre in Warsaw. In 2009 she received a grant from Minister of Culture and National Heritage. She cooperates with Piekary Gallery (Poznan, Poland), Wanted Paris (France) and Millennium Images (UK). She took part in many group and individual exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including Tate Britain Gallery (2010, UK), XIX International Contemporary Art Fair (2010, Hiszpania), Vienna Fair (2010, Austria), Art Vilnus (2009, Lithuania), Voies Off (2009, France), Rencontres Photographiques de Montpellier (2009, France), Biennale of Photography in Poznan (2009, Poland), Youth Art Biennale in Słupsk (2008, Poland), Fotonoviembre (2005, Tenerife), Month of Photography in Bratislava (2005, Slovakia), Month of Photography in Krakow (2006, 2003, Poland), Warsaw Summer of Photography (2005, Poland), Daylesford Foto Biennale (2004, Australia) and others. Her works are in numerous collections of photographs. Currently she lives and works in Warsaw.
