"The project "Moore and Auschwitz" fits into the broader educational mission of the Museum which embraces the idea of an “open past”, based on dialogue with the many narratives of Polish, Jewish and European history, maintaining the memory of cultural coexistence, engaging in international discourse on memory, reaching beyond local experience, and encouraging critical reflection (...)The display "Moore in Auschwitz": Around the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial Competition accompanies a monographic exhibition of works by Henry Moore shown at Tate Britain. It relates to an episode in 1957 when Henry Moore was Chairman of the International Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial Competition. Although the project entitled "The Road" presented for the competition by the Polish architect Oskar Hansen did not win the first prize, it was nonetheless recognised as an uncompromising attempt at redefining the notion of the public monument and a work that went beyond all other submitted projects (...)

The Winterreise, 45 small, like postcard, pictures of the nature taken in the Birkenau on November 2009 by Magdalena Hueckel’s and Tomasz Sliwinski add to this almost minimalist space a bit of colour and intimacy. This poject is also a connection with the Hansen’s Road Monument."

The Transformations project is a clash of two separate works concerning similar problems. The work Self-Portrait (video + photographs) is an attempt of creating a synthetic self-portrait consisting of various moods and recording slow changes that occur in the human physiognomy. In turn Obsessive Self-portraits are a cycle concerning the unavoidable decomposition of the body, which is caused by illnesses, traumas, and the process of ageing. Her photographs show the human body as an organic matter.
