Photographs taken for the cycle represent exploration of theunconscious emotions and obsessive illusions hidden inside dream visions. They are the echo of images that appear under our eyelids while sleeping, when all the anxieties and fears assume a visual form. The work relates to the lack of ability to control one’s life, the randomness which rules it, and the awareness of the inevitable, the decay.
The title refers to the Rapid Eye Movement sleep phase, characterized by elevated brain activity and the appearance of dreams.
